GRHC Foundation Hosts Eighth Annual Golf Outing

Save the date: Next year’s outing is scheduled for June 11, 2011.

Grant Regional Health Center Foundation held its eighth annual Benefit Golf Outing on Saturday, June 12, at the Lancaster Country Club.  More than 100 golfers were on hand to enjoy the day and support the Foundation.

The proceeds from this year's event will be used to purchase a cough-assist jacket. This air-pulsed generator rapidly fills and deflates, creating mini coughs to clear bronchial airways. It is used to help patients who suffer from breathing problems, such as pneumonia, COPD and cystic fibrosis, and can be especially beneficial following most surgeries.

Division 1 winners. Jim Dressler, Ron Jentz, Andy Kilcoyne and Chad Olmstead

The proceeds come from player registration fees and sponsorships by local and regional businesses. Corporate sponsors for this year’s event included Brim, Wolf L&G Farms, TDS Telecom, Epic Construction, Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative, Tricor Insurance, L&M Corrugated Containers, Comprehensive Pharmacy Services, Trustpoint and Quarles, and Brady LLP.  This year’s flight sponsors were Fincor Solutions, Dubuque Radiology, Reilly Plumbing & Heating, Eastman Cartwright Lumber, Majestic View Dairy, and Wright Medical Group.

The winners for this year’s outing included Jim Dressler, Ron Jentz, Andy Kilcoyne and Chad Olmstead in division I with a score of 63.

Division II winners: Mike Haberlie , Brian Kirsch, Chuck Kirsch and Sonya KirschThe Foundation also hosted an Aim Against an Arrow event. Shannon Farrey went up against almost every team and proved to be a wonderful addition to the outing. This year Grant Regional Health Center rehab staff sponsored a chipping contest, as well as provided tips for proper golf swing techniques before the event.  There were numerous raffle prizes—the CEO prize, a stay-and-play package for the Amana Colonies, was won by John Ingebritsen. Many other raffle packages were distributed during the steak dinner, and the event concluded with a DVD highlighting the day of golf and fun.

The golf outing is one of the activities that the foundation sponsors to fulfill its mission of fostering good will and encouraging financial support for Grant Regional Health Center.
