Hip Replacement

After several years of suffering from knee pain, Tom Davies was surprised to learn it wasn’t his knee causing the pain at all. He wasn’t ready to give up his active lifestyle including his golf game that he enjoyed so much – so he made an appointment with Dr. Reschly, orthopedic surgeon at Grant Regional Health Center. After a thorough examination and x-rays, Dr. Reschly determined it was actually Tom’s deteriorated right hip that was transferring pain to his back and knee.

Dr. Reschly’s years of experience and caring personality made Tom feel comfortable and confident right away. His total hip replacement surgery took place at the end of January 2010 and he was back golfing as soon as the snow melted and the golf course opened in April. "I was amazed at my rapid recovery," said Tom.  He attributes that to the excellent surgical and nursing care and post-operative rehab he received while at Grant Regional.

"Of course I was a bit apprehensive at the thought of surgery. But now I strongly encourage others to consider it and don’t wait and suffer with pain like I did. We have an excellent hospital with a top-notch orthopedic surgeon right in our own town…they helped me get back to enjoying life. They can help you too!"
