Emergency Appendectomy

"It’s one of the things you hope never happens to you," explains Randy Neis describing his recent emergency appendectomy. Randy leads a very busy lifestyle traveling and working for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture – Division of Animal Health. "I’m just glad that if I had to go through it – I had the care and support of an awesome hospital. I remember having to be in Madison for a meeting and thinking to myself – something is just not right. The flu-like symptoms and pain in my right side was getting progressively worse."

I waited another day before going to see my doctor. It didn’t take long and before I knew it – I was headed into surgery. I was very impressed with Dr. Yurcek and his surgical team. The care I received was second to none. They do this type of thing everyday…but I don’t. I’m sure they could see how nervous I was. They explained everything and made me feel very comfortable.

A few years ago, I was hospitalized at a larger hospital in Eau Claire and the care didn’t compare. I don’t think Grant Regional gets the credit it deserves. I trust the staff with my life! The care they provide and compassion toward others makes you come away feeling very good about the experience. If I had ten hospitals to choose from - I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
