Don Weydert wasn't about to let knee pain keep him from doing all the things he loves to do.
"I knew when I was turkey hunting last spring and had to walk backwards to get up a hill that I needed surgery," he says. Don enjoys hunting, fishing and gardening and didn't want to miss out on any of it.
He could have chosen to have his knee replacement surgery virtually anywhere, but he decided to place his trust in Ron Reschly, MD., orthopedic surgeon at Grant Regional Health Center. After the initial consultation, Dr. Reschly informed Don that he would be a perfect candidate for the Advance Stature total knee system. This procedure would fit Don with an individually sized knee implant—an improvement from only offering a standard small, medium or large fit.
"I felt comfortable with Dr. Reschly right away," says Don. "The fact that he has over 30 years of experience, I knew I was in good hands."
Since his surgery, Don is amazed at his rapid recovery. "I was out fishing, just 2½ weeks after surgery. And I was able to get back to gardening in less than a month. I never thought I'd say this, but, as soon as doc gives me the green light, I'm ready to have my other knee done. I haven't felt this good in years!"
