Carol was nominated by Judy Adrian, RN and her nomination stated:
I was a patient and was fortunate to have Carol Addison as my pre op nurse. She came in early the day of my total hip surgery and cared for me like I was the most important patient she had every had. Her expertise with my IV, her explanation of what was going to occur, and her genuine compassionate care, made me feel relaxed for a major surgery. I know Carol in other facets of her nursing career at Grant Regional Health Center. I have never met a nurse that goes above and beyond in every role she has achieved. As a lactation consultant, birth educator, and OB labor, delivery, postpartum nurse, she gave it her all while at the hospital and calling or visiting new moms and babies on her own time. As a certified diabetic educator, she held classes and could truly reach her patients needs and gain on hospital time or her own time. If every nurse at Grant Regional was as dedicated, compassionate, skilled, respectful, friendly, and hard working as Carol Addison, our hospital would be nationally known for our nursing care. I am proudly excited to recognize her as a Rising Star nominee.
