Grant Regional Health Center will offer (FREE) COMET™ Community Training on April 13th, 2022, from 9-11am and 6-8pm in the Education Center. COMET™ stands for: Changing Our Mental & Emotional Trajectory.

COMET™ recognizes our rural values of neighbor helping neighbor, and communities being their own best resource – especially when concerned about another’s emotional and mental well-being. Some of the main objectives of the training include: to learn a natural way to talk with a friend, a neighbor, or an acquaintance about difficult topics, to learn a conversational guide and the importance of being “the other person,” and to practice the COMET intervening questions and plan how you will use COMET to have in conversations about another’s well-being.

Grant Regional Health Center recently completed a Community Health Needs Assessment in partnership with two other hospitals serving patients in Grant County. Results of the community survey indicated Mental Health as an area of high need in our area, a growing trend in recent years. This mental health workshop is one of the efforts being put forth to help positively impact Mental Health in Grant County.

This training is free, but registration is required. Anyone interested in signing up may do so from the link below.
