Nicole Clapp Named Business Leader of the Year

Nicole Clapp was recently named Business Leader of the Year by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce at the annual banquet held February 9, 2016.

As President/CEO of Grant Regional Health Center since 2006, Nicole's significant contributions and leadership have positioned our small rural hospital toward a bright future. This past year has been no exception. Together with the Board of Directors, the hospital made an important decision to invest in itself and purchase the land and its assets from the City of Lancaster. Her decisions and strategic initiatives have helped shape the hospital into the strong, progressive organization that it is today. She plays a critical role in Grant Regional's success with her tireless dedication to ensuring quality patient care, a strong, skilled workforce, and continues to give back to the community she has called her own for the past 20 years. As one of the youngest CEOs in Wisconsin, she exemplifies invaluable knowledge and understanding of rural healthcare. Under Nicole's direction, Grant Regional is poised for continued growth through added physicians, expanded services and a focus on innovation.

Nicole has led Grant Regional Health Center's collaborative effort to create a culture of service excellence through touching lives by working with the Disney Institute in Orlando, Florida, since 2002. Nicole was instrumental in Grant Regional Health Center being recognized as a Solucient's Top 100 Performance Improvement Leader Hospital in 2004. She is board-certified in Healthcare Management and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and she was named the Wisconsin Chapter's Young Healthcare Executive of the Year in 2004. Under Nicole's leadership, Grant Regional obtained the Wisconsin Forward Award in 2010 and 2011. In 2014, Grant Regional was recognized as an iVantage Top 100 Hospital along with Becker's 100 Great Hospitals. In 2015, Grant Regional received a five-star patient experience rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Also in 2014 and again in 2015, Nicole was recognized as a Becker's 50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know.

Nicole Clapp represents Grant Regional Health Center as a board member for the Wisconsin Hospital Association, Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, National Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, and Badgerland Girl Scout Council. Nicole chairs the Wisconsin Hospital Association Workforce Development Council. Nicole enjoys being involved in the Lancaster Lion's Club, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Grant County Economic Development, the Lancaster PEO Chapter X, Family Promise of Grant County Board of Directors, and the National American Legion Auxiliary.
