More about the DAISY Award

The DAISY Award, which stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstems, was started in 1999 by the family of Patrick Barnes. Patrick passed away at the age of 33, after an eight week battle with an autoimmune disorder called ITP. His family wanted to do something special to recognize nurses for all the work they do for patients and their family. THe DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses was established.
The award has grown into an international recognition program for nurses around the world. Grant Regional Health Center is proud to bring the DAISY Award to our facility. There will be two honoree awards given per year; one at the beginning of November (selected from quarter one and two nominations) and one at the beginning of May (selected from quarter three and four).
