At Grant Regional Health Center, we treat every birth as a unique and special event. From the moment you know you're expecting, our dedicated doctors and nurses offer expert, nurturing support throughout your entire pregnancy—and even afterward.

At any time during your pregnancy, you can preregister with the hospital and take advantage of benefits for parents-to-be. An experienced registered nurse will give you a tour of the birthing suites, as well as answer any questions you may have about the upcoming event. Another way parents can prepare for the birth of their child is to take advantage of Grant Regional's prenatal education classes, including childbirth, breastfeeding, and infant and child CPR.

New birthing suites

Grant Regional's newly expanded area features five private, exquisitely decorated family birthing suites. From the traditional obstetrics department that offered separate labor/delivery rooms and patient bedrooms, the space has been transformed for comfort, allowing moms to labor, deliver and recover all within the same spacious suite. With soft lighting and modern, comfortable furniture, along with beautiful woodwork and large windows, our family birthing suites provide a welcoming atmosphere.

Each suite is complete with a large, private bathroom and whirlpool tub, personal sink and vanity, TV and DVD player, and sleeper loveseat so that support persons can stay overnight. A nutrition station, which offers beverages, ice and light snacks, is centrally located and available to patients and their families 24 hours a day.

To ensure comfort and safety, we have modern birthing beds and monitoring and emergency equipment all within your own room. And because we're family-oriented, we encourage your family and friends to take advantage of our specially designed family waiting room. Situated adjacent to the birthing suites, this reception area offers comfortable seating and TV/DVD and computer access.

When it's time for delivery, your suite can be converted into a delivery room within seconds. Each suite is equipped with leading-edge technology, including special lighting and equipment that's hidden behind panels in the wall and ceiling. The entire obstetrical unit, including the nursery, has discreet but strict security measures to ensure that babies and moms are safe and secure.

Our well-planned features and touches truly make this an ideal setting where new moms and dads can enjoy the wonder of bringing a new life into the world.

Our flexible rooming-in policy allows parents to spend as much time with their baby as they wish. Our physicians and nursing staff are happy to answer questions and assist parents in the finer points of well-baby care.
