Join Grant Regional Health Center, Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics, and Crossing Rivers Health to increase your wellness and conquer a 5K run/walk this spring.
Couch to 5K - Steppin' to Good Health kicks off on Wednesday, March 23. You’ll spend eight weeks learning wellness education and practicing independent physical activity. Program participants gather in person every other week from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in their community of choice, including Boscobel, Fennimore, Lancaster, and Prairie du Chien. Various health and wellness topics will be discussed biweekly, including stretching and hydration, nutrition and mental wellness.
During the alternate week, participants are encouraged to exercise on their own, or with friends and family. The final Couch to 5k run/walk will be held at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College on Saturday, May 14, 2022. (Rain date: Sunday, May 15 at 1:00 PM)
Couch to 5k training schedule:
March 23 — In-person kick-off to discuss goal setting and injury prevention, start guided physical activity
March 30 — Independent physical activity
April 6 — In-person education and guided physical activity
April 13 — Independent physical activity
April 20 – In-person education and guided physical activity
April 27 — Independent physical activity
May 4 – In-person education and guided physical activity
May 11 — Independent physical activity
May 14 — Race Day at Southwest Tech at 9 a.m.

Open for all levels - walkers, joggers, runners and everything in-between! All are encouraged and welcome to join the program at no cost. This event is part of our collaborative efforts as healthcare facilities to move the needle on physical inactivity in our communities funded in part by the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health.
