A Wonderful Place to Welcome Baby Rhett

Choosing to have our baby at Grant Regional was an important decision for us. We live in Lancaster and heard great things about Grant Regional, specifically the OB department. Many of our friends who have recently given birth have spoken highly about the Grant Regional OB staff. We took a tour of the OB before our stay and were able to see the recent renovations.
Knowing that the hospital is only a few minutes away from our home made us feel a lot more relaxed about the labor process. As new parents, we weren't sure what we would want or need during our stay, but knowing the hospital was close by helped us feel less anxious because we could drive back and forth between our home and the hospital, if necessary. We also felt less stressed when Dr. Eric Stader told us that we may stop into the clinic whenever we needed to in the days leading up to our due date. He has been wonderful throughout our entire pregnancy, labor, and delivery. His calm demeanor, knowledge, and experience were comforting throughout our journey.
When we arrived at the hospital, we were very surprised to find out that our baby was breech. A team for a cesarean delivery was quickly assembled by Dr. Eric Stader and the Grant Regional staff. Although we felt shocked in this situation, the team members' composure and knowledge helped us feel much more at ease and less stressed about the circumstances. The procedure went smoothly, and the medical staff—including the anesthesiologists, nurses, and doctors—kept us informed and comfortable the entire time.
Several members of the surgical team came to our room before our operation to guide us through the entire process. They were extremely informative about what to expect and made us feel more prepared for our delivery. Our c-section surgery experience was made more personal and memorable by the team of nurses who were in the operating room with us. As we greeted our new baby, they took a lot of pictures to help capture this special moment for our family.

We had wonderful nurses during our stay in the OB department who were always willing to help and answer any questions we had. Specifically, Nichole Seippel went above and beyond in helping us with nursing, Sarah Mumm was very helpful when it came to overnights with our new baby, and Amanda Carns did a great job of helping us when we were ready to head home.
We were both born at Grant Regional Health Center and we both have siblings who have given birth at Grant Regional so it was special to have our baby here too. Thank you to everyone who had a part in helping us welcome baby Rhett. We look forward to returning in the future! - Haley & Grant
