Brianna & Tyler Krohn's Journey to Becoming Mom & Dad
Brianna and Tyler were over the moon when they learned that they were going to be parents! After trying to conceive for over a year, Brianna cried tears of joy as she found out. As a first-time mom to be, Brianna had many questions, but one thing she knew for certain is that she wanted her Obstetrics care to be at Grant Regional Health Center. The Krohn’s knew it would be convenient to not have to travel far for the appointments throughout her pregnancy and were looking forward to the recent OB renovations to help make the experience of welcoming their first baby even better.
Before becoming pregnant, Brianna established care with Dr. David Casillas Plazola. She was nervous at the time that her and her husband may need to receive care from an infertility specialist. “Dr. Casillas always went above and beyond to get answers for us when we needed them. He also made sure to go into depth on explaining things if we did not understand at first.” During this journey Brianna shares that Dr. Casillas was always thorough, making sure the couple received various tests that were necessary before seeking infertility care. She was fortunate to have a fairly healthy, non-complicated pregnancy.
At 37 weeks, Brianna began to show symptoms of possibly Pre-eclampsia and made the decision with Dr. Casillas to induce labor. Brianna had been adamant that she did not want an epidural, but after experiencing labor for the first time, she was relieved and grateful when she opted to give it a try.
Shortly after, on March 16, 2024, Brianna and Tyler happily welcomed their daughter Amara-Lynn. “My overall experience at Grant Regional Health Center was AMAZING” shares Brianna. “Dr. Casillas was an amazing OB doctor, and I will continue to recommend him to all the soon to be moms. I brag about him to anyone and everyone!” She shares that she and her family were grateful for all of the staff involved with her care while Amara was born – from the Nursing staff to Dietary and everyone in between. The Krohn’s look forward to continuing care with Dr. Casillas as they look forward to this new chapter in their lives as a family of three.
