Back to Fall 2024A message to our communities
Since becoming President/CEO earlier this year, I’ve had the privilege to listen and learn how much our communities value and appreciate Grant Regional’s nearly 70-year legacy of providing exceptional healthcare. Compared to big-city hospitals, we may be smaller in size but are proud of the big impact we have on our local communities. We feel a deep sense of pride and commitment to our patients who place their trust in our care. We believe in extending outside of our hospital walls, to support our communities through important health screenings, education and outreach.
As a rural hospital, we have the unique capacity to provide patients with the “best of both worlds.” We offer advanced technology yet small enough to answer your questions. We are large enough to attract specialty providers, but small enough to offer same-day or next day appointments. And we rank nationally in regard to quality, but small enough to know your name.
We understand that you have a choice when it comes to choosing a healthcare provider for you and your family. With many options for health insurance plans in our area, we also encourage families to ask specifically if their coverage includes local providers in their network. And when possible, we encourage you to choose local. If higher level of care is needed outside of Lancaster, you have the right to request local care following surgery or treatment including follow up rehabilitation, labs, post-acute care (swing bed program) or other services offered here.
It’s important to be an advocate for local care and make your wishes known to your physician, family and your health insurance plan. When you choose local healthcare, it translates into staying in our community for other services as well. If you leave town to access care elsewhere, you may inevitably stop, shop, and support other businesses which ends up affecting the local economy. Not to mention the time and cost savings for patients who choose to support local healthcare…it is sure to have a big impact overall. Grant Regional Health Center has worked diligently to expand and grow for the benefit of our surrounding communities, and the hope is for our communities to in turn support us with choosing ‘local care’.
Through our wide array of healthcare services, we provide access to high-quality, patient-centered care that is coordinated and conveniently located close to home. From emergency care to preventative services, our dedicated team of healthcare professionals is here to support you every step of the way.
